(no subject)

 i've been wearing the bonnet i made and it's stretching out so fast and i am Soooo dissapointed. last fucking time i ever get yarn with any acrylic in it! and unlike natural fibers you absolutely can't shrink acrylic back!!! I HATE IT and now what? i mean, i can experiment with heat and agitation on my hat in hopes of shrinking it but not matting (since it's half acrylic half mohair ugh) but what im most upset about is that i promised to make a hat from the same yarn for my friend and im halfway through and idk what to do bc i don't want to give him a hat that will stretch as fast as mine did, it's just dissapointing quality imo. i wld like to make it smaller but im halfway through like i said so it's going to be weird. i could start over but bc it's mohair i can't really undo what i already made bc it all clings to itself so i will have less yarn

i found a site that sells mohairs blended with silk and or wool... theyr not cheap but u could use those plus another strand of a non fuzzy yarn in the same colour(but finding that comes w its own challenges mhhh) and overall cost of materials will at least double. but like, that way the hat may actually LAST like what is the point of making an item with your HANDS for HOURS from crappy materials so it dies in 5 wears? i will never respect acrylic yarn stans i think they just like to knit/crochet but not WEAR and LAUNDER their stuff. UGHHHHHHHHHHHH i would gladly get those more expensive yarns nd start over but im kinda on a budget :////
